Rental Terms
All car rentals are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement, which you will receive upon booking confirmation or at the time of vehicle pickup. In case of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Renting a vehicle requires:
- To rent a vehicle, you must be at least 21 years of age, although age restrictions may differ depending on the vehicle type, with extra charges applicable for drivers under 25. A valid driving licence, appropriate for the vehicle category, must be held for the duration outlined in the Rental Agreement. Additionally, valid identification and proof of current address are required, along with payment details and a security deposit. Please review the Rental Agreement for any further requirements.
Booking and Payment Process
- Reservations can be completed via our website, by telephone, or directly at our Billingham location. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. Full payment and a security deposit are generally required at the time of vehicle pick-up. All prices are listed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT as applicable. We accept major credit and debit cards, with secure processing through trusted payment providers.
4. Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of vehicle collection, a thorough inspection is required. Any pre-existing damage should be reported without delay. A vehicle condition report will be completed and both parties will sign it. It is essential to return the vehicle in the same condition it was received, allowing for normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and may incur additional charges. The vehicle should be returned with the same fuel level as at collection; refueling fees will apply if the tank is not filled. Late returns could lead to extra charges, so please notify us as soon as possible if you expect a delay. You will be accountable for any parking fines, traffic violations, or related fees incurred during your rental, plus an administration fee.
5. Coverage and Responsibility
- All rentals include basic third-party insurance. Detailed coverage information and excess amounts can be found in the Rental Agreement. You may opt for additional insurance to further limit your financial liability. It is advisable to review these options thoroughly. You remain liable for any damage or loss up to the insurance excess unless additional coverage is purchased. Any damage resulting from negligence, misuse, or violation of these Terms will be your responsibility, irrespective of insurance coverage.
6. Modifications and Cancellations
Cancellation and amendment policies differ based on the type of booking and the notice period provided. For precise information, please consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Be aware that late cancellations or failure to show up could incur additional charges.
7. Restricted Activities
Prohibited Vehicle Usage:
- The vehicle must not be used for any illegal activities. This includes racing, rallying, off-roading, or other potentially dangerous endeavors. Transporting hazardous materials is prohibited. Sub-letting to others or permitting unauthorized drivers is not allowed. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or using the vehicle for purposes it is not intended for, is strictly forbidden. Adhering to passenger and weight limits is required, and driving outside of agreed geographical boundaries without prior authorization is not permitted.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental termination and extra fees.
Liability Limitations
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Car Hire in Billingham is not responsible for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business resulting from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claim is capped at the rental amount you paid in the past 12 months. This limitation does not apply to claims related to death or personal injury due to negligence or fraud.

These Terms are regulated by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes will fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of courts in England and Wales.
